There is a brass plate on the pulpit, stating that it was given in memory of Stanley Bernard Avis.


Edward Burnell Monument

A large alabaster monument, bearing the inscriptions:

Edward Burnell gt departed this present world the xix of December in the yeare of our lord 1589.
Made anno dni 1590 by me Barbara Burnell
God graunt us all a joyfull resurrection

Front panel of the chest has a vertical crack down the centre. Pediment of the head panel is broken off (post 1951) and rests against the back panel to the side of the effigy’s head. Monument moved from old position in front of hooded tomb recess during C19 restorations.

Attributed to Roiley of Chellaston, Derbyshire.

Chest; length 1.97m, height 0.90m, depth 0.69m. height, floor to pediment 2.47m. Length of figure 1.82m.
