War Memorial

Brass plaque on the wall close to the south porch names the men from Welbeck, many of them estate workers, who died in the First World War.

Ornate border and inscription in relief.

At the top centre of the plaque is a seated woman with downcast head bearing a classical Greek helmet in her right hand. To her left is a kneeling female figure holding a quill pen at arm’s length. To the right is a male figure holding a branch. To the left and right of the inscription are branches with regimental badges within them.
