Radford St Peter

Monuments and Memorials

Monument to members of the Creswell family

This is on the north side of the nave, near the pulpit. It commemorates the Rev Edward Creswell, Vicar of the church, his wife Sarah, their son Samuel (also Vicar of the church), and Samuel’s son, Samuel Francis.

Floor slabs

In the main aisle is a slightly cut down slab in memory of Mary (presumably) Poole who died 1838. Another slab is more seriously damaged and difficult to read.

Floor dedication

On the chancel step is an engraved design indication that the floor was given in memory of the Rev Hubert Arnold Gem and his wife Ella Howard, both of whom died in 1930.

Tomb of William Elliott

He left a legacy – the Elliott Dole – to St Peter’s to be paid to the poor of Radford aged over 70 years, each year on 21 December. This has now been transferred to Radford Care Group.
