The World War I memorial

A large brass World War I memorial is located near to the Boer War memorial in the north-east corner of the chapel.

The memorial records the names and ranks of 169 men of the parish who were killed in the war.

A dedication ceremony for both the brass memorial inside the church and the war memorial cross in the churchyard was held on 4 August 1921. It was led by the Bishop of Southwell and also present were the Mayor and Corporation, a detachment of Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry, cadets and members of the St. John Ambulance.

To the Glory of God and in grateful memory of the following Men of the Parish who gave
their lives for their Country in the Great War 1914-19.
