Glass

St Mary Eastwood has only one coloured glass window which can be see when first entering the Church via the main door as it is positioned on the east wall of the entrance vestibule. It is made up of fragments of red, yellow and blue glass randomly set in cement but so set as to create two adjoining red crosses with a yellow background. The window was designed by artist Margaret Traherne in 1967 and covers an area of twenty-one square feet. Margaret Traherne was also commissioned to design and make a wrought iron and glass cross for the Church. This cross can be seen in the Morning Chapel were it is suspended from the Ceiling over the Altar.
