Eakring St Andrew

War Memorial

The War Memorial, in the form of a Celtic Cross on a ‘rough-hewn’ inscribed stone base stands by the north west corner of the church and by the roadside. It commemorates only the men of the First World War, there having been no Eakring losses in World War II. The western face is inscribed as follows:

WHO SERVED IN THE GREAT WAR

MEMBERS OF THE CHOIR OF THIS CHURCH WHO FIGHTING FOR THEIR COUNTRY FELL IN FRANCE IN THE YEARS 1915, 1917 AND 1918 RESPECTIVELY.
