A tablet on the north wall of the nave records all those villagers who gave their lives during the First World War.

DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.

In the west side of the churchyard there is a tall stone Celtic style cross with a dedication on two sides of the plinth which reads:

To the memory of the men of Colston Bassett who gave their lives in the Great war 1914-1919

and

I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.

The other two faces of the plinth are inscribed with the names of those who died:
