Parish church. C12, C13, C14, C15, restored 1869 by Ewan Christian. Ashlar and dressed stone with ashlar dressings and Slate roofs. Chamfered plinths and eaves, and coped east gables with crosses, rainwater heads dated 1869. West tower, nave, north and south aisles, chancel, north aisle chapel now vestry. West tower, C14 and C15. 2 stages. Moulded plinth, string course, panelled eaves band with 4 gargoyles and moulded crenellated parapet. 4 diagonal buttresses, 3 setoffs to west, 2 to east. First stage has to south, 3 stair lights, small slit window, and clock. To west, deep cove and roll moulded doorway, C13, with hood mould. Above, C15 triple lancet with cusped heads, in coved four centred arched surround with splayed mullions. Above, clock. To north, clock. Second stage has 4 C14 cusped trefoil head double lancet bell openings with splayed mullions, in chamfered and splayed openings with hood moulds. Nave clerestory has chamfered eaves and coped gable with gabled kneelers and cross. On each side, 4 C15 triple lancets with cove mullions, coved and rebated square headed reveals. North aisle and north aisle chapel, 3 plus single bays, has sill band and a pair of gabled diagonal buttresses with moulded plinths, single setoff. North side has 3 similar gabled buttresses, 2 setoffs. West end has a C19 cusped ogee headed triple lancet in C15 style, with Decorated tracery, chamfered mullions, chamfered square headed reveal and hood mould with stops. North aisle chapel has to north restored C14 triple lancet with cusped ogee heads, Decorated tracery, chamfered mullions, chamfered square headed reveal, and hood mould with mask stops. To its right, 2 C14 triple lancets with cusped heads, Decorated tracery, chamfered mullions, chamfered squared headed reveals and hood moulds. To west again, blocked doorway, C13, with chamfered reveal and hood mould with stops. To west again, C14 double lancet with cusped ogee heads, Decorated tracery, chamfered mullion, chamfered square headed reveal with hood mould. East end has single C14 triple lancet with cusped ogee heads, Decorated tracery, chamfered mullion and square headed reveal and hood mould, restored. South aisle, 4 bays, that to west narrower and earlier. Pair of gabled corner buttresses and single similar intermediate buttress, 2 setoffs with moulded plinths. East end has restored C14 triple lancet with cusped round heads, Decorated tracery, chamfered mullions and reveal, and hood mould with mask stops. South side has to east a C14 double lancet with cusped  ogee heads, Decorated tracery, chamfered mullion and square headed reveal with hood mould and mask stops. To west, restored Dudley Forsyth, c.1911, and to west, chamfered round-headed tomb recess with hood mould and window with stained glass by Heaton, Butler and Bayne, c.1893. Roof similar to north aisle. Chancel arch. C13, restored. Chamfered and rebated with hood mould. Filleted shaft responds with moulded capitals and bases. Chancel north side has to west, opening containing organ in fretted case. To east, 2 stained glass windows, C19. East end has 3 stained glass windows attributed to Holiday, c.1869. South side has to east C12 piscina, and to west 2 stained glass windows, C19. Panelled dado with inscription in memory of Dean Hole, 1905. C19 principal rafter roof with curved braces to collars, spine beam, and painted stripes. Fittings include C19 pierced panelled timber pulpit on corbelled ashlar base, font with octagonal bowl and tapered octagonal stem with moulded base and capital, brass and iron lectern c.1870, with conical base, twisted stem, crocketed capital and iron filigree bookstand. C19 moulded softwood benches, moulded pierced panelled oak benches and stalls in chancel, c.1905. Pair of stocks, c.1860. Model plough, formerly inn sign. Monuments include Classical marble and slate wall monument with apron and obelisk crest carrying urn and torch, to Samuel Hole, 1818; signed ‘W & M New’k’. Classical pedimented marble and slate tablet with brackets and Arms, to S. Bristowe, 1818. Marble and slate tablet, 1826, brass with crest, 1855. Marble and slate tablet, 1858. Brass C19 and brass and tablet C20. Plaque referring to rehanging of bells, 1936.
