Balderton St Giles

Bells

There are eight bells, five of which were recast in 1842, a sixth was presented in 1900 by the Rev. H. Farmer who was then the vicar. Two further bells were added in 1962.

All bells were cast by Taylors of Loughborough.

In 1736 there were at least three bells as the Archdeacon required the third bell ‘be new cast’. It is likely that the recasting was by Daniel Hedderly as Balderton occurs in the Hedderly catalogue. By 1740 there were four bells recorded.
